Bundamba Anti-Graffiti Wall
Queensland Government’s newly formed SEQ Water, formerly Allconnex Water and other similar bodies, has become the single statutory authority responsible for ensuring a safe, secure and reliable water supply for South East Queensland. SEQ Water is the Queensland bulk water transport authority responsible for 535km of potable bulk water pipelines, 30 reservoirs/balance tanks, 27 pump stations and 9 water quality facilities.
Alder Construction Pty Ltd was engaged by SEQ Water to apply a specified VersEseal Liqud Rubber coating to a retaining wall that required an anti-graffiti coating in Bundamba, Queensland totalling 220sqm in surface area. Both sides of the besserblock walls of the retaining structure consisted of 6 construction joints that required waterproofing to ensure that the water treatment plant inside the walls is protected from flood waters like Brisbane experienced in 2011.
Alder Construction Pty Ltd engaged VersEseal Liqud Rubber to supply and install a UV stable, anti-graffiti membrane coating to the treatment plant retaining wall. This involved using VersEseal Liqud Rubber Quickset and Rapid Build specification products to weatherproof the retaining wall. VersEseal Liqud Rubber Rapid Build was used in conjunction with geotextile fabric to repair and seal the wall joints. VersEseal Liqud Rubber Quickset was then progressively applied using an airless spray pump to coat parts of the walls to provide a final seal.
The final product provided the client with a completely waterproof, durable and highly flexible membrane strong enough to eradicate the potential of any future leakage and was far superior in comparison to competing products due to its excellent adhesion and elastomeric properties for the concrete floors and walls.

Currumbin Wildlife Sanctuary
Currumbin Wildlife Sanctuary on the Gold Coast is home to one of the largest collections of Australian native animals. Over 60 years old, The Sanctuary see thousands of tourists and locals through its doors every year in its 7 hectares of lush eucalypt and rainforest.
Currumbin Wildlife Sanctuary is owned and operated by the National Trust of Queensland, an organisation that is dedicated to preserving The State’s natural and cultural heritage.
The Sanctuary’s crocodile pond enclosure required an VersEseal Liqud Rubber Quickset specification seamless rubber membrane applied to address a health concern affecting the crocodies when they enter and exit the pond. It also improved the aesthetics of the aging enclosure. VersEseal Liqud Rubber Quickset cushioned the concrete edge of the pond with a seamless membrane.
The VersEseal Liqud Rubber team applied a VersEseal Liqud Rubber Quickset membrane to an area of 160 square metres. Works were completed in two stages, with stage one taking 5 days and stage two taking 4 days with a 10 year warranty for the project. VersEseal Liqud Rubber Quickset was used under these circumstances due to its ability to:
- Adhesion to the surface
- Resistance to prolonged exposure to UV
- Cushioning properties
- Quick application as areas were unable to be shut down for long periods of time for repair
- Environmentally friendly products are very important for the wildlife industry as well as the state of Queensland
- Quickset was applied to and is very durable
- Durablilty when exposed to crocodile claws and body
Green Hill Reservoir Rehabilitation
As an essential element of Brisbane’s potable water assets, and also one of its largest, Green Hill Reservoir No 1 & No 2 in Chapel Hill were in need of significant refurbishment in order for Seqwater to maintain its high standards for water supply. These structures were built in 1968 and required detailed inspection and repair of all defects.
Rob Carr Pty Ltd was engaged by SEQ Water to initially clean the Reservoir No 1, support a detailed inspection of the reservoir structure conducted by SEQ Water representatives and provide information to SEQ Water for a detailed report on its findings. Upon provision of the report, Rob Carr Pty Ltd supplied SEQ Water with detailed designs for repairs of the identified structural damage. The roof of the reservoir in particular, was in dire need of repair due to major cracks and other defects in the roof slab structure and existing expansion joints.
Rob Carr Pty Ltd specifically selected VersEseal Liquid Rubber proprietary membrane system that provided SEQ Water with a high quality solution for the defects at a competitive price. The membrane covered the entire roof slab of both reservoir No 1 and No 2 which comprises of approximately 15,000 m2 combined.
Additionally, Rob Carr Pty Ltd has designed an in-house system to prevent the ingress of water through these same expansion joints, cracks and saw cuts on the roof, again utilising a VersEseal Liquid Rubber membrane system. Upon completion of all joint and crack repairs totalling 3km, a 2000 micron layer of VersEseal Liquid Rubber Quick Set specification product has been applied over the entire roof of reservoir No 1 & 2 sealing it 100% from any water ingress to the reservoir. Gold Coast Water
Gold Coast is the largest water distributor-retailer in south east Queensland and operates more than $4b in assets, including 108 reservoirs, 822 pump stations and over 12,000km of pipelines.
Alder Construction Pty Ltd was engaged by Gold Coast Water to apply a specified VersEseal Liquid Rubber coating to a 2.5 million litre capacity reservoir in Bonogin South totalling 660sqm in surface area. The concrete floor and walls of the reservoir consisted of over 2000 mini fissures and major cracking in parts which had resulted from poor concrete quality used at the time of the reservoir’s construction. This of course necessitated repair using a highly adhesive & elastomeric coating.
Alder Constructions engaged VersEseal Liquid Rubber to undertake all supply and install for the coating of the reservoir. This involved using VersEseal Liquid Rubber Quick Set and Rapid Build specifications to waterproof the reservoir against 300 separate leaks. The VersEseal Liquid Rubber Rapid Build specification was used in conjunction with geotextile fabric to repair and seal the reservoir’s construction joints as well as floor to wall joints. VersEseal Liquid Rubber Quick Set specification was then progressively applied (using an airless spray pump) to coat parts of the concrete floor and all the reservoir walls to provide a final waterproof seal. In addition, a topcoat (Elostoseal TR) was used to provide higher visibility for maintenance divers.
The final product provided the client with a completely waterproof, durable and highly flexible membrane strong enough to eradicate the potential of any future leakage. This solution is far superior in comparison to competing products due to its excellent adhesion and elastomeric properties for the concrete floors and walls.

Mapleton Residential Water Tank
Mapleton is a small town in Queensland’s Sunshine Coast hinterland. It is well known for its 180 degree panoramic views of the Sunshine Coast.
Aged but structurally sound concrete water tanks that leak on residential properties all over Australia are often being replaced by expensive new polymer tanks. The owners also incur the costly process of demolishing and removing the old concrete tanks.
The more economical option is to apply VersEseal Liquid Rubber Quickset membrane that is potable water approved. Seamless VersEseal Liquid Rubber membranes are applied using paint brushes, rollers and an airless spray pump, increasing the life of a concrete tank. in Mapleton the VersEseal Liquid Rubber team applied a VersEseal Liquid Rubber Quickset membrane to an area of 92 square metres. Works were completed within 4 days with a 10 year warranty provided for the project.

Queensland Aluminium Limited
The Queensland Alumina Limited (QAL) refinery is
one of the world’s largest alumina refineries and covers 80 hectares of a 3050 hectare site on the south-east outskirts of the city of Gladstone QLD.
The VersEseal Liquid Rubber team were engaged on a subcontract basis by Veolia Environmental Services to apply VersEseal Liquid Rubber Quick Set specification to a combined 1605 square metres of area across several roofs at the QAL refinery with a final dry film thickness of 2.0mm.
The product was specifically chosen for its adhesion and sealing qualities as well as its excellent resistance to ultraviolet light. This was doubly important as the VersEseal Liquid Rubber Quick Set was used to seal the roofs on several electrical substations (primarily 13, 22B, 22D, 27B and TTMC) as well as some bunded areas at the refinery.
The coating was applied to all the required areas within a 10 day construction period. This further exemplifies the efficiency of the supply and install of the VersEseal Liquid Rubber product over its competitors in the harshest of environments.
Due to the constant dust problems as well as weather restrictions, the VersEseal Liquid Rubber Quick Set was applied using the airless spray pump. This machine allows for a smooth and efficient application as well as enabling a fast curing time which allows for a clean and dry surface within few hours.

Wagga Wagga City Council
Wagga Wagga City Council is located in SouthWestern NSW. Its sewage network covers some 20,000 residential and non-residential properties and transported 5800 ML of sewage in 2009.
Several sewage pump stations on the network had deteriorated significantly and where in need of repair due to the sewage corroding the conrete walls of each of these 15 pump stations.
VersEseal Liquid Rubber were contracted to apply VersEseal Liquid Rubber Rapid Build specification to each of these 15 pump stations to ensure that there would be no further damage to each pump station’s concrete walls. VersEseal Liquid Rubber Rapid Build was applied in multiple coats as required to achieve a 2mm dry film thickness. The team used an airless spray pump to apply the VersEseal Liquid Rubber Rapid Build to the walls of the pump station as well as all of the pipes, mounts, sensors and any electrical conduit contained within the pump station to ensure a total protection system within each wet well.
VersEseal Liquid Rubber product, as evidenced by Wagga Wagga City Council, was far superior in comparison to competing products, especially considering the Council was seeking a product that had excellent adhesion and elastomeric properties for varying surface types. VersEseal Liquid Rubber is also able to resist the high levels of corrosive gas produced by the sewage within the wet wells.

Sparkes Hill Reservoir Rehabilitation

Sydney Water
Sydney Water is the largest water utility & provides four million people in Sydney, the Illawarra and Blue Mountain regions with storm water, drinking water, recycled water and waste water services.
As an approved VersEseal Liquid Rubber applicator, RMP Abrasive Blasting (RMP) were engaged by Sydney Water to apply specified VersEseal Liquid Rubber Quick Set specification coating to an assortment of reservoirs and tanks totalling 6200sqm in surface area. The reservoirs especially, had severe cracks in both the floors and walls which necessitated repair using a highly adhesive and elastomeric coating.
RMP used VersEseal Liquid Rubber Rapid Build specification in conjunction with polypropylene geo fabric to reinforce all evident cracks in the floors and walls as well as the construction joints. VersEseal Liquid Rubber Quick Set was then applied progressively (using an airless spray pump) to all internal areas of the reservoirs and tanks to a final dry film thickness of 2mm. The final product provided the client with a completely waterproof, durable and highly flexible membrane strong enough to prevent any future leakage.

University of Queensland Rain Water Tank
The University of Queensland’s main campus at St Lucia is set on a 114-hectare site bounded on all sides by the Brisbane River, seven kilometres from the Brisbane CBD.
With approximately 40,000 students and 7,000 staff the University is one of Australia’s finest and most prestigious universities.
Christopher Contracting Pty Ltd were engaged by Watpac to apply specified VersEseal Liquid Rubber coating to a rain water tank on level 7 in UQ’s St Lucia campus totalling 100sqm in surface area. The concrete floor and walls of the tank consisted of many penetrations, z-bolts hole and construction joints.
Christopher Contracting engaged VersEseal Liquid Rubber contractors to undertake all supply and application work for the coating of the tank. This involved using VersEseal Liquid Rubber Quickset and Rapid Build products to waterproof the tank against leaks.
